The number of people who have pegged me as 'around 22' here is just wonderful. I'm glad I don't look my actual age of 28. It's not so old, but it's a bit old for the exchange student that is your typical volunteer!
Hee! I'm thrilling at "oh, 20?" around here ;) I mean, not that I don't think 25 is pretty awesome, but y'know.. And the "no wai- you totally do not seem that old! Like, you seem mature, but not like OLD" We must be drinking the same youth-preserving water!
Oudezijds 100 is an ecumenical community based for more than forty years in the heart of Amsterdam's notorious Red Light District. In addition to bringing a message of grace and hope to the district, it serves as a half-way house for people who, for whatever reason, need a fresh start to their lives. At any given time several large families and dozens of students, volunteers, social workers and others, occupy the massive, ramshackle house at Oudezijds Achterburgwal 100.
If you're curious to see it for yourself, you really should stop by for dinner one night. Guests are always welcome!
